Madhouse has announced the release of ’25 Years Of Madhouse (mixed & compiled by Kerri Chandler)’. The anniversary album will be released on 7 September as an individual track digital and CD albumcontinuous DJ mix from Kerri, and a special 8 track vinyl sampler.

Label co-founder Kerri has lovingly compiled and mixed ’25 Years Of Madhouse’, fresh from his 2017 landmark DJ-Kicks compilation, sending a track into space with Sonar25, and launching his Underground Kaoz concept with Jeremy Underground. Amongst a wealth of remixed classics from Kerri himself (including Adesse Versions), label heroes Demuja and Kevin Over feature heavily, alongside cuts and remixes from Jerome Sydenham, Dennis Ferrer, Roy Ayers (‘Good Vibrations’), DJ Deep, Will Saul, Josh Butler, Jimpster, and many more.

Launched in 1992, Madhouse Records was a joint venture between Chandler and Mel Medalie’s Champion Records. Rooted in Deep and Soulful House, Madhousebecame predominantly an outlet for Kerri’s music, alongside productions from his peers, and tracks he discovered while DJing around the globe. The first release was a 6-track showcase sampler entitled ‘A Basement, A Red Light & A Feelin’. Singles and EP’s followed from Matrix, Kamar, Lafayette, Dreamer G and Stratosphere (one of Kerri’s many aliases included on this album), along with Christopher McCray, where Kerri mostly produced, co-produced or remixed himself.

25 years on, the imprint has retained its original ethos and continues to push quality, underground House music. Forthcoming releases will see Seven Davis Jr, and Marquis Hawkes both make their Madhouse debuts; and over the past 12 months, the label has welcomed names such as Detroit Swindle, Peggy Gou, Jimpster, Josh Butler, DJ Deep, DJ Steaw, Kevin Over, Black Loops, Adesse Versions, Will Saul, Dennis Quin, Demuja and many more great names to their roster.

Mixed by one of the most respected DJs on the planet, ’25 Years Of Madhouse’ is a reminder of Madhouse’s considerable contribution to House music’s canon, and of a legacy that continues to shape electronic music in 2018 and beyond.

Brooklyn, NYC, 1992 – After years of dreaming and months of meticulous planning, a young Kerri Chandler is checking the final masters of his latest track ‘Matrix – Get Out’ and putting together the final elements to launch his first ever label project, Madhouse Records, Inc. Fast forward twenty five years, Kerri and the label are listening to that very same track in their office, but this time are planning celebrations for their landmark anniversary and drawing inspiration on how to remain as influential today as they were all those years ago.

Madhouse Records is known for being an integral part of New Jersey’s underground house scene, being home to a large number of Kerri’s records alongside other celebrated artists, such as Dennis Ferrer, Roy Ayers and Jerome Sydenham who have all helped to cement Madhouse in house music history. Not forgetting the newer artists including Voyeur, Roog, Dennis Quin and T.Williams who are continuing to push boundaries yet staying true to the ‘Madhouse’ sound we have come to know and love.

May 2017 marks twenty five years of Madhouse Records, a quarter of a century pioneering the true sound of house music. We are proud to now finally reveal our ‘Madhouse: 25 Years Of’ campaign. In celebration of this milestone we have put together 25 projects which will run over the next twelve months, including an exclusive and intimate event with Kerri Chandler playing under his ‘Matrix’ alias, remastered Madhouse vinyl re-issues starting with our very first release, a number of one off events and label showcases, all leading up to a special album which will include previously unreleased music and Kerri Chandler remixes from some of the underground’s most respected artists.

We have curated a Spotify playlist of 25 tracks we think sum up Madhouse Records and the journey over the last 25 years. Click here to stream – http://hyperurl.co/Madhouse25Spotify

Ahead of the very special release we put together a very special ‘Remastered Sampler’.Kerri Chandler himself went back to the very start and re-mastered the early releases. As well as this we have had string of releases from Melodyman, Demuja and Frag Maddin.

Most recently to celebrate 25 years we released ‘Kerri Chandler (Remixed)’ which sees the house icon’s work remixed by some of the scene’s Mose exciting DJ’S and producers. There are remixes from Detroit Swindle, Josh Butler, Peggy Gou and Jimpster.

Coming up in July we will be releasing a compilation of the biggest tracks from the Madhouse back catalogue. Also featuring on this compilation will be some unreleased music and Kerri Chandler Remixes from some of the most respected artists. All of this here will cap of what has been a great 25 years.
